Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside Hampshire County Council to provide them with a Childcare Development Business Officer on a 6 month initial contract which may be extended.

 

This role is 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday and offers a pay rate of £20-£24 per hour. This may be negotiable dependent on your experience.

 

As a successful Childcare Development Business Officer, your duties will be:

  • Regularly research the early education and childcare market and identify areas of insufficiency or surplus of places, providing strategies to manage sufficiency of provision, including supporting settings to start up or become sustainable.
  • Monitor and report upon the impact of strategies and ensure local knowledge contributes to the SfYC childcare sufficiency strategy. Liaise with appropriate stakeholder members within the local area to establish childcare market priorities and provide information to stakeholders regarding strategic initiatives and changes in the childcare market.
  • Ensure that where provision ceases to offer all or some of its early years education delivery that parents/carers are supported to find alternative arrangements and that there is assessment made regarding the needs of any new provision in the locality.
  • Co-ordinate the review, and interpretation of local area data to ensure stakeholders are able to identify local development actions to improve outcomes for children as prioritised in the Services for Young Children plan.
  • In accordance with the setting improvement support programme policy co-ordinate, monitor, record and review the Local Development Team support offer allocation, providing challenge and direction to ensure the agreed support offer clearly defines what support and how much is offered together with agreed outcomes and timeframes.

 

To be considered, you will have the following knowledge/experience:

  • Experience of working in or supporting childcare/early years delivery
  • Proven knowledge and experience of the regulations and initiatives that affect early education and childcare businesses
  • Proven experience of business planning, financial management, cash flow forecasting and marketing
  • Proven experience of running a business or experience of working with or providing support to people running their own business
  • Proven skills in project management
