Placement Officer, Children

 

Spencer Clarke Group are working with Lambeth Council to hire a Placement Officer within Children Services on a contract basis.

 

Main Purpose

 

To identify, monitor and quality assure placements for children and young people in the care of Lambeth Council, which includes young people aged up to 19 and children with disabilities. This role involves working closely with social workers, providers of foster care, residential care and colleagues across children’s services, adult services, education and health. This post will take work in partnership with commissioning colleagues to assist in contract monitoring and quality assurance within the team and will lead on developing effective systems and processes to ensure that high quality placements are utilised that offer value for money and improve outcomes for children and young people

  

Knowledge –

 

·         Knowledge of IT and electronic systems

·         Knowledge of the Children Act and subsequent legislation relevant to the prolem

·         Knowledge related to the Commissioning of placements for Children and the monitoring Of such placements.

 

·         Knowledge of the Local Authorities responsibilities towards children in care and care leavers with respect of accommodation.

Experience

·         Experience of working within a team/with children young people and their families.

·         Experience of working within a commissioning/contracting environment

·         Experience of quality assurance processes/performance
