Cambridgeshire County Council are currently working alongside Spencer Clarke Group to recruit an Data Centre Programme Manager

 The roles are Full Time and operates on a 6+Month ongoing contract We are looking to get people started as soon as possible.

The daily rate is £500 to £600 (inside ir35) Negotiable dependent upon experience and we are hoping to get someone started as soon as possible.

Working hours – Full Time

The requirement is to: 

  • Plan the delivery of the overall Data Centre programme and its activities from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and tasks and activities with any associated processes.
  • Work with senior stakeholders, both within CCC and partners to define and shape the programme, including prioritising the order of works based on business needs.
  • Where necessary and in conjunction with the Strategic IT Lead and Head of IT & Digital Services develop business cases for funding projects that sit within the Data Centre programme.  Provide papers in support of business cases and present where necessary.
  • Balance objectives between projects (including across different customer/partner organisations) and redeploy people and resources as priorities change.
  • Keep senior management informed with appropriately detailed reports or presentations
  • Ensure that risk and issue management procedures are robust at both a programme and project level.  Identify and evaluate the risks associated with programme activities and take appropriate action to control the risks.
  • Supervise project managers involved in the Data Centre programme through matrix and direct line management.  Liaise with Project Managers at partner sites to facilitate programme delivery.
  • Lead and keep under review the allocation of resources to prioritise projects, making adjustments as required to ensure key objectives are met whilst managing competing demands.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree in the relevant subject area, Project Management  Prince2/MSP/LEAN practitioner qualification or demonstrable relevant experience, Management qualification ILM, DMS, Managing successful programmes in programme delivery
  • Technical knowledge of complex technical environments, knowledge of MS office and programme management software

Experience:

  • Proven ability to work effectively with IT delivery, customers and suppliers.
  • Experience of working with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group.
  • Engaging with subcontracted 3rd parties to ensure delivery to the contracted service.
  • Experience of resource management in matrix environment.
  • Significant experience of leading major high-profile programmes within an agreed parameter of time, cost and quality.
  • Demonstrable results in managing complex projects and experience with negotiating win-wind agreements
