An exciting an opportunity has arisen following a Service Redesign at Essex County Council to manage of their four quadrants as a SEND Inclusion & Psychology Lead.

Our Client, Essex County Council are looking to recruit on an interim 3–6-month contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.

As a SEND Inclusion & Psychology Lead You will work collaboratively across the Leadership team to strategically plan and drive forward the SEND Vision for Essex. The position will include Leading and managing the SEND inclusion team made up of EP’s, inclusion partners and assistant EP’s.

Rate of pay – £490 – £600 per day – Negotiable depending on experience.

Experience Needed:

  • Hold a Doctorate or master’s degree in educational Psychology.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an EP.
  • Registered with Social Work England.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Effectively lead and develop the SEND Inclusion team within a designated quadrant, overseeing the system for programme allocation and management across the team.
  • Accountable for the quality and impact of the work of the Inclusion team, showing a commitment to evidence-based practice. Providing support and supervision to the team for the most complex individual setting/schoolwork.
  • Accountable as the professional lead for SEND Inclusion and Psychology on behalf of the local authority (LA), in one quadrant.

The role requires substantial experience as an Educational Psychologist working in a local authority context, detailed knowledge of effective research-informed interventions, and excellent leadership skills.
