Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Shropshire to provide them a with a Senior Financial Accountant to join their team on a Contract Basis!

Full Time Monday to Friday 37 hours per week

Rate: £200 per day 

3 month+ contract

Duties:

• The production of the Council’s Statement of Accounts for publication and audit, accurately and within agreed timetables, ensuring compliance with accounting rules
• Production of Statement of Accounts relating to external clients- This will require knowledge of private sector accounting requirements and standards
• Issue technical guidance to the Finance team and Service Areas on the treatment of revenue and capital transactions within the Council in compliance with accounting rules
• Ensure the completion of all revenue statutory returns accurately and within agreed deadlines and that accurate records are produced and retained in support of those returns
• Identify and lead on projects within Finance Services to streamline and improve processes employed within the Service and the Council
• Co-ordination of Fees and Charges information for annual Cabinet/Council report
• To be involved with other comparable duties within the Finance, Governance & Assurance service consistent with the level of the post and, in particular, those that will enable the Division to respond effectively to the changing requirements of the Council. These duties are illustrative and not exhaustive

The post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work to enable the service to respond effectively to the changing requirements of the Council and changes affecting the workforce.

Requirements:

AAT qualified or equivalent or accounting/business degree, Part CCAB Qualified, CCAB qualified, Relevant Degree or qualification to degree level.
