YOS Operations Manager **

We're excited to collaborate with a Local Authority in the Brixton area seeking a YOS Operations Manager to work within their Youth Justice Service.

Offering a 3-6 month agency contract with potential for ongoing extension, this full-time position (35 hours) is based in SW2.

The competitive rate of pay is £31 - £39 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

About the Role:

• Prevent offending and re-offending by children and young people through the provision of effective services as required by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008, Legal Aid, Sentencing & Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO) and related legislation and guidance.
• Be responsible for the day to day operational management of the multi-agency Youth Offending Service in accordance with Council policies, procedures and national service standards.
• Advise the Programme Director (SMG) and inform senior management of serious incidents and to take an active role in the management of risk.
• Assist the Head of Service, with the development and delivery of the Youth Justice and YOS Improvement Plans in partnership with other agencies.

Main Duties:

• Lead on a number of thematic areas within the multi-agency YOS providing specialist knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas in order to prevent offending by young people.
• Hold responsibility for assessment, risk management, case planning, service provision and review, identifying and addressing the needs of individual young people and practitioners within delegated budgets.
• Work with a wide range of other partners and agencies in planning and implementing preventative interventions for individual/groups of young people at risk of involvement in crime.

• Youth Offending Service Operations Management.
• Local Authority / Public Sector.
