Firstly, you will need to register with us and provide all relevant documentation. As soon as your file is clear with DBS, ID and references, you could be working in as little time as the next day.

I’m interested in working as a SEND Case Officer - what sort of experience do I need?
For the majority of our Local Authority SEND Roles, managers usually ask for a minimum of 1 years’ experience working for a team previously. As the roles require the workers to hit the ground running, there is very little time for training so it’s essential you have Local Authority experience or significant experience within SEND at a senior level.
How long do the contracts last?
You can expect interim contract lengths of 6-9 months and sometimes even longer! It’s very dependent on the Local authorities needs as there isn’t a one size fits all model when it comes to interim contracting.
Don’t worry though, as the contract comes to an end, we will be in touch with the team to see if they are extending the contract. If they aren’t, we will work on finding you your next perfect role! Our specialist consultants pride themselves on offering contractors continuous employment and it’s always at the forefront of our minds here at Spencer Clarke Group.
Can I work remotely?
In some cases, yes you can! Many of our clients allow workers to carry out their work completely remotely. This isn’t always the case though as some clients prefer having the worker in the office from time to time. If you’re looking for something which is fully remote, simply enquire with one of our consultants who will be happy to help find you what you’re looking for!
My notice period is 4 weeks – would this be a stumbling block?
Every council has different requirements and needs and some are more urgent than others. Generally speaking, a notice period of 4 weeks isn’t a problem - however, always check with the consultant looking after the vacancy to see when the proposed start date is.
Do you ever get part time roles?
Part time roles are few and far between; a lot of our clients have requirements due to long term sickness/absence or require additional support to ease pressures within their service. This usually means that they are looking for full time workers to join their team.
We do get the odd part time opportunity but they are not as frequent and regular as the full time working opportunities which we can offer.
