Meet the Team - Cat Rainford

We recently caught up with Recruitment Consultant, Cat Rainford, to discover more about her hidden talents and her passion for recruitment!

How long have you worked at Spencer Clarke Group?

I joined Spencer Clarke Group in July 2023! From the second I joined, I got made to feel welcome and part of the team. It really does feel like a massive family.

What markets do you specialise in?

I specialise in accountancy and finance practices, working with clients and candidates across the North West. I recruit for accountant roles across all levels, payroll, tax and audit.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love being able to help people with their career journeys and new possibilities! It’s such a rewarding feeling when I know I've placed someone in their desired role.

What motivates you at work?

I’m motivated by being part of a good team! Healthy competition gives me the desire to become the best I can be! I have a young daughter so I want to be able to provide her with everything she needs.

How would you describe working at Spencer Clarke Group?

Working at Spencer Clarke Group is like no other. Everyone is always so energetic which makes it fun. It's such a good environment to work in as you always get valued and supported.

Tell us about your career path so far

I used to be a Barista in a busy cafe in Preston before I moved to Australia where I worked in office and sales positions. After coming home, I started working at a recruitment agency for 2 years focusing on children and young people. I then saw the opportunity at Spencer Clarke Group and I knew it would be the one for me.

How would your colleagues describe you?

I think they would describe me as positive, a good laugh and hardworking.

Where are we most likely to find you outside of work?

At the gym or at a wacky warehouse with my daughter!

Tell us something we’d never guess about you!

I'm an identical twin and the oldest by 10 minutes.

What’s next for you at Spencer Clarke Group?

I would like to become a Senior Consultant then Management Consultant. I feel with the right time scale, I have the skills to support another team member or two.

The Holiday.

Where’s the best place you’ve travelled to? 

Bali and the Gili islands.

What advice would you give to your young self?

Don't be afraid to try new things. It could lead to the best time of your life!

Nemanja Matic.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island? 

Eyelashes, my phone and my family – a fishing rod too so we can eat!

Do you have any pets? 

I have a dwarf hamster called Skye!

Do you have any hidden talents? 

I'm double jointed.

What’s the best gig you’ve been to?

I haven't been to one - the best comedian I have seen was Kevin Bridges in Melbourne!

What animal is your spirit animal?

A puppy as they always need cuddles and food.

What’s your guilty pleasure? 

Disney films.
