Meet the Team - Jimmy Callagher

We recently caught up with Managing Consultant, Jimmy Callagher, to discover how he would describe working at Spencer Clarke Group and what motivates him at work.

How long have you worked at Spencer Clarke Group?

I started in May 2023 and it has been a brilliant start. It's such a welcoming company and I have absolutely loved my time here so far!

What markets do you specialise in?

I specialise in education recruitment for primary schools. I recruit Teachers and Teaching Assistants across the Fylde Coast, Lancashire and Preston.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love finding someone their dream job and helping a school find a member of staff to support their pupils.

What motivates you at work?

Helping my team to place quality staff and having a passion to help all the schools that I work with.

How would you describe working at Spencer Clarke Group?

SCG is a very fun environment to work in, everyday is such a laugh. It’s paired with hard work and a very professional working environment, designed to help everyone succeed.

Tell us about your career path so far

I started my career as a PE teacher in Preston and Sefton. Following that, I worked in a construction role for a year before heading into an education recruitment role where I worked for 2 and a half years. I then joined Spencer Clarke Group!

I'm also a governor of a primary school in Preston and I love giving the time to the school.

How would your colleagues describe you?

I think they would describe me as friendly, hardworking, dedicated and ambitious.

Where are we most likely to find you outside of work?

At a golf course - my absolute favourite.

Tell us something we’d never guess about you!

I'm a black belt in taekwondo.

What’s next for you at Spencer Clarke Group?

My main goal is to develop the primary team to be a massive success and hopefully bring in even more consultants on my team!

What’s your favourite film?

Where’s the best place you’ve travelled to?

The Maldives but my second choice would have to be Vietnam or Cambodia.

What advice would you give to your young self?

Save up more money and bet on Leicester winning the Premier League in 2016.

Have you ever met anyone famous?

Paul Scholes in the airport on the way to Magaluf.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

Boat, sunglasses and a knife (to make a shelter).

Do you have any pets?

Mabel - a black labrador.

Do you have any hidden talents?

It’s my top secret which is to remain hidden!

What’s the best gig you’ve been to?

Eminem at Virgin festival.

What animal is your spirit animal?

Lion - loves a nap and are protective of their family!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Disney films!
