Frequently Asked Questions.
I’m thinking of entering the interim market. How do I get started?
If you are thinking about joining the interim market, it would be a good idea to give us a call on 01772 954200. There are many options and avenues to explore but one of our healthcare recruitment specialists can set you on the path which is right for you.
You can also discover more about how the interim job market works in our recent interview with medical professionals recruitment specialist, Natalie Boaler.
Who do you work with?
We work with hundreds of private sector organisations and local authorities and NHS Trusts who require Clinical Psychologists to join them on an interim or permanent basis.
We work with clients who specialise in Acquired Brain Injury, Mental Health, Paediatrics, Social, Emotional and Mental Health and specialist schools.
What qualifications are required to be a Clinical Psychologist?
To become a Clinical Psychologist, you will need a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology along with registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Depending on the area you are looking to specialise in, you might also require specialist training. This might include training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
What’s involved in the application process?
A screening process will be carried out by one of our expert healthcare consultants and if you are happy to proceed with the post, our consultant will then share your CV and details of your experience with the hiring manager.
If our client thinks you are a good fit for their job, you will then be invited to an interview.
Finally, if you are offered an interim position, we will register you with ourselves and then start the onboarding process. This will be completed as quickly as possible so there are no delays with your start date.
If you are offered a permanent job, the client will be responsible for the onboarding process which usually takes between 1 - 2 months.
Will you send my CV without permission?
Absolutely not, you will always have full control of where your CV is sent. We will present opportunities to you and you can advise if you would like your CV to be forwarded on.
How quickly can you find me a job?
We pride ourselves on working very quickly; on average it takes us between 1 - 3 days to place a candidate.
How long will my contract be?
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to contract lengths but you can typically expect a contract to last between 3 - 6 months. However, contracts can last for years depending on the needs of the NHS Trust or business which you are working for.
What happens when my contract ends?
Entering the interim market can be daunting at first, particularly if you’re not sure what to expect. However, contracts are regularly extended and as we work with hundreds of Local Authorities, there are always plenty more job opportunities just around the corner.
Simply contact us on 01772 954200 and we can put any concerns you have at ease.
Can I work remotely?
It totally depends on the business you are working for. The work pattern type will be listed on the job advert.
