Job Opportunity: Year 5 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Position: Year 5 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Just outside of Lancaster
Qualifications Required: Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience working in a classroom environment and with SEN students
Transport: Must be able to travel to the school via car

About the Role:
As a Year 5 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to a student with special educational needs within a Year 5 classroom setting. You will work closely with the class teacher to implement individualised learning plans and ensure that the student is fully supported in accessing the national curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to the assigned student, both in and out of the classroom environment.
  • Assist the student with academic tasks, including literacy, numeracy, and other areas of the curriculum.
  • Implement strategies to support the student's social and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor the student's progress and communicate effectively with parents/carers and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Previous experience working in a classroom setting, preferably with Year 5 students.
  • Experience working with SEN students and a good understanding of their needs and requirements.
  • Ability to travel to the school via car, as public transport options may be limited.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
