Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Biomedical Scientist specialising in Histology. As a key member of the histology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic support by preparing and analysing tissue samples for microscopic examination. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment, helping to provide essential insights for patient care.
What you'll do:

  • Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination using advanced histological techniques.
  • Process and embed tissue specimens, ensuring they are accurately sectioned, stained, and mounted.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control and adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Interpret histological slides to assist in diagnosing a range of medical conditions.
  • Work closely with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.

What we're looking for:

  • HCPC registered as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • A degree in Biomedical Science or a related field, with specialised training in Histology.
  • Must be able to do microtomy, dissection (A-C) and Immuno
  • Proven experience in a histology laboratory, with a solid understanding of tissue preparation and staining techniques.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience with molecular pathology techniques (e.g., immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization) is desirable.
