Interim Highways Site Supervisor / Clerk of Works
Location: Somerset
Contract: 6-Months ongoing
Pay: £30-40 Per hour dependent on experience
Our client, a local authority in Somerset, is seeking an experienced Highways Site Supervisor / Clerk of Works to oversee the delivery of multiple small highways contracts under NEC4 Engineering Construction Contract (Option B). This role will involve daily site supervision, contract management, and ensuring compliance with all relevant specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily supervision of multiple highways construction projects, ensuring works are completed to specification, on time, and within budget.
- Contract management under NEC4 ECC Option B, ensuring contractor performance aligns with the agreed scope and contract terms.
- Conducting inspections to ensure construction meets design, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Health & Safety enforcement, ensuring contractors adhere to regulations and best practices.
- Stakeholder liaison, working closely with contractors, council officers, and project teams to ensure effective delivery.
About You
- Experience in supervising highways construction projects under NEC4 ECC contracts (Option B).
- NEC4 Project Manager or Site Supervisor accreditation (desirable).
- Valid CSCS card.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- Strong knowledge of highway construction standards, health & safety regulations, and contract management.
- Ability to manage multiple sites effectively and maintain strong contractor relationships.
