Spencer Clarke Group are looking for an Inclusion Manager to join one of our public clients. As an Inclusion Manager, your role will be to exercise the lead in creating and implementing local strategies and policies for Access and Inclusion Service areas that are connected to children who are at risk of missing school due to part-time arrangements, suspension, exclusion, or other reasons, along with unplaced children. Leading the development and delivery of the city's local strategy and policy for inclusion, which includes making alternate plans for children and adolescents who can't get an education through mainstream channels to guarantee an appropriate and secure full-time education.
*This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service Check for the Children's work force, with a check against the barred list*

What you'll do:

  • To oversee the adoption and application of suitable regulations, practices, and strategies under Section 19 of the Education Act of 1996 in order to guarantee the provision of appropriate full-time instruction in schools or elsewhere and to maintain the accuracy of published data. This covers the efficient supervision and quality control of students receiving fewer hours of education and those enrolled in alternative education programs.
  • Analysing and reviewing LA oversight and its effects on children who are more likely to become CME (reduced schedules, off-rolling, exclusion, persistent absence, SEN/EHE, alternative provision, etc.) in collaboration with partners
  • Take the lead in reviewing and publishing documentation, action plans, and reports related to the larger CME agenda. Lead the CME Case Management Group (and any related CME Working Groups) to guide and inspire a multi-agency group to improve inclusion strategies and lower risk within the city.


What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS).
  • Hold a recognised degree or the equivalent level qualification in one or more of the following areas: social care, health, related fields, and education.
  • Substantial amount of recent and relevant experience of working with children, young people and families.
  • Experience in leading different teams and holding the responsibility for a large amount of duties.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the inclusion challenges within schools
  • Excellent communication skills involving all levels inside and outside the council.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the inclusion challenges within schools.
