Overview:

This is a Temp to Perm contract to join a team of dedicated Intervention Support Workers based at the facility and offering support all across Bolton, targeting families with SEND/SEMH Children who need help accessing support and education to enrich their lives and skills for adult life.

Duties:

  • Provide targeted intervention support to students with SEND, helping them overcome academic and behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning strategies that address the unique needs of each student.
  • Deliver small group and one-on-one sessions to reinforce learning and boost student confidence.
  • Driving around the community to deliver vital resouces and information to families and bridge the gap between their children and educational facilities to help them access vital support networks and education
  • Monitor student progress and adapt interventions as needed to ensure continued improvement.
  • Support students in managing difficult behaviours, using de-escalation techniques and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Assist in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs or children in care with a range of SEND and SEMH needs
  • Must have access to a car and be willing to travel around the Bolton area as part of Outreach duties to families and outside bodies in Bolton
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to tailor interventions to meet the specific needs of individual students.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging situations.
  • A commitment to professional development and willingness to learn new strategies for supporting SEND students.
