Job Title: Year 4 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Just outside of Lancaster, UK

Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive, dependent on qualifications and experience

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 4 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with a specific student, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a Year 4 student with SEN, assisting with academic tasks and promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to implement strategies and interventions to support the student's learning goals.
  • Adapt and differentiate classroom materials and activities to accommodate the student's learning style and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess the student's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCO as required.
  • Assist with the student's integration into classroom activities and peer interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of the student's achievements and challenges, ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity at all times.
  • Attend relevant training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN support.

Requirements:

  • A qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Proven experience working in a classroom setting, preferably with experience working with the National Curriculum and SEN.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different learning styles and strategies for supporting students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Must have access to a car and be able to travel to the school location.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
