Spencer Clarke Group are searching for a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) on behalf of a public client we work closely with. The role is to provide non-medical prescribing sessions each day Monday through Friday, to individuals who use alcohol and/or other substances in a safe evidence-based clinical recovery-focused prescribing programme.
Key responsibilities:
- To offer individuals who use drugs and alcohol a supportive service that meets their requirements, including individualised treatment plans and services supported by thorough research.
- To assume a 'key prescriber' role which will include the allocation of complex patients along with having the responsibility for delivering medical aspects of the care plan, psychotherapeutic interventions, as well as relevant support.
- Carrying our alcohol and drug detoxifications with the service users.
- Reporting to the Clinical Lead.
- To provide tailored treatment interventions including general health assessments and screening, community detoxification, medication titration, stabilization programmes and relapse prevention plans.
Key requirements:
- Independent non-medical prescriber.
- Nursing or Pharmacist qualification and a registered practitioner within the NMC or GPC, or relevant allied health professional qualification registered with that professional body.
- Have experience working as a NMP within a drug and alcohol service.
- Evidence of working at a senior level in an MDT and social care setting.
- Have experience and able to demonstrate experience of performing harm reduction approaches with people who use substances. (This must include knowledge of Naloxone overdose prevention strategies and needle & syringe programmes).
