Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Patient Access Administrator to join one of our public clients in the Brighton Area. The role will entail delivering an effective and superior appointment, reception, and administration service in the Imaging and Nuclear Medicine Department is the responsibility of a Patient Access Administrator. The Patient Access Administrator must be able to work together with a significant group of administrative workers from the Imaging Department at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital NHS Trust in addition to working independently, meaning using your own initiative is essential.
What you'll do:

  • Respond to complex questions from persons whose first language is not English or who may have differing comprehension levels via the phone and in person.
  • Give and receive sensitive and complex information, especially where there may be communication barriers such as difficult behaviour, a learning disability, and recent bereavement.
  • When interacting with employees or patients who may be confrontational or hostile, display patience, empathy, and diplomacy.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to telephone enquiries from patients, families, GPs, other hospitals, and other staff members in addition to from various departments.
  • Make appointments using the Radiology Information System (CRIS) and provide patients with the examination materials for all imaging modalities (computerised tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and plain film) using specialised knowledge of radiography procedures and systems.

What we're looking for:

  • Someone who can organise and prioritise their own workload and simultaneously work through all issues and enquiries are dealt with quickly, whilst portraying a pleasant and courteous manner.
  • At least 5 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, including, English and Maths, Educated to at least, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, for example admin.
  • Able to organise and maintain an effective filing system.
  • Able to prioritise and manage a range of tasks and duties with competing demands.
  • Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
