Recovery Nurse
Full time 37.5 hours per week.
3-month placement, Stoke
Band 5

Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Recovery Nurse to join one of our public clients on a full-time basis for a 3-month placement. The role will be focused around drug and alcohol recovery in response to the needs of the service users. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team in a custodial environment and are expected to deliver high standard of interventions.

What you'll do:

  • Provide patients, their families, and carers with excellent clinical and psychosocial interventions.
  • Under the supervision and direction of the individual designated with continuing responsibility, act as a designated nurse for a group of patients.
  • To properly evaluate, care plan, and perform treatment reviews with individuals who have complex and varied needs.
  • Engage in therapeutic group work programs, assuming leadership roles when necessary.
  • Deliver custodial or community clients transferring through the criminal justice system with sustainability of treatment.
  • Co-administer medication, according with relevant Trust protocols and NMC.
  • Conduct drug testing and respond appropriately in accordance with policy.
  • Observe patient conditions and report them verbally and in writing to maintain an efficient reporting system.
  • Take part in the service's development to guarantee that clinical governance procedures are actively carried out at the team level.
  • As decided by the clinical team, make sure all patients are in safe custody.

What we're looking for:

  • Must be a registered nurse, registered won the NMC register.
  • Experience in formulating assessments, planning, co-ordinating and supporting people.
  • Experience of providing care and interventions within a health setting.
  • Able to demonstrate an awareness of current thinking and guidance in the management of drug and alcohol conditions.
  • Full UK driving licence is required, along with being committed to work with people with drug and alcohol issues.
