Job Description:

As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will be part of the Maintenance team, ensuring that the site is safe and ready for use by staff and students every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading on Site Security and ensuring all buildings are secured properly each day
  • Carry out general maintenance checks , including cleaning and minor repairs as needed
  • Carry out general cleaning tasks.
  • Perform security checks to ensure the safety of the premises.
  • Assist with the setup and clean up of school events and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Lock up or open the school securely depending on agreed shift pattern

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Caretaker or in a similar role is required.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic DIY and maintenance skills, experience as a Handyperson or trades person is highly desirable
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable and punctual.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
