SEND Case Officer - Annual Reviews
£270 per day
3 month initial contract
Fully remote working
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Case Officer to support a local authority in the Midlands by completing annual reviews and maintaining high quality EHCPs that deliver positive outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The SEND Case Officer will act as a first point of contact, supporting young people with SEND and their families through the statutory EHC assessment process including their subsequent placement and key transition stages.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience of SEN Casework and EHCP writing for a Local Authority.
- Secure knowledge and understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and The Children and Families Act 2014.
- Recent experience of managing a full and varied caseload, including children and young people with complex and additional needs.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Creation of high-quality, outcomes focused and person-centred Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within statutory time-frames.
- Management and administration of SEND Casework, ensuring that records and data are accurately maintained.
- Support schools and education settings with complex assessments, annual reviews and reassessments for children and young people with SEND.
Skills required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to build and maintain meaningful relationships with education settings and young people and their families.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and prioritise conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
- High level of communication skills and the ability to provide clear, concise and effective written and verbal communication.
