SEND Case Officer
£280 per day
3-6 month contract
Fully remote working
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Case Officer to work in collaboration with both the SEND service and education settings to meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The SEND Case Officer will work for a local authority in Southwest England to ensure that children and young people with complex needs are supported and able to influence their learning outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
- Secure understanding of the statutory framework for the assessment processes in relation to children and young people with SEND.
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations and guidance, in particular the SEN Code of Practice 2015 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mediate in difficult situations where necessary.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Management and administration of SEND Casework, ensuring that records and data are accurately maintained.
- Act as an empathetic first point of contact, providing guidance and support for families of children and young people with complex educational needs.
- Production of evidence based and outcome focused recommendations that prioritise the needs of children and young people with SEND.
Skills required:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to build and maintain trusting relationships with education settings and young people and their families.
- Ability to problem solve and develop innovative solutions to service delivery within statutory guidelines.
