SEND Resolution and Tribunal Officer
£350 per day
3 month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Resolution and Tribunal Officer to support our local authority client in the East of England in the early resolution of disputes relating to children and young people with SEND.
Working alongside the Legal and Family Services, the SEND Resolution and Tribunal Officer will be required to represent the local authority during mediations and tribunals, ensuring that they fulfil all statutory requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation including the SEND Code of Practice and Children and Families Act 2014.
- Proven experience in representing local authorities at SEND Tribunals.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly, both written and verbally.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Work directly with children and young people with SEND and their families to find a solution which will provide them with the most appropriate outcome.
- Act as a mediator to resolve disputes about provision without the need for a formal hearing where possible.
- Represent the Local Authority by preparing for and attending formal mediations and actioning any follow up activity.
Skills required:
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
- Ability to manage and maintain up to date records and provide reports for a range of audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to offer emotional and practical support to families navigating complex situations.
