Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Tribunal Officer to lead and manage cases within the SENDIST Tribunal processes for a local authority in South East England.
The SEND Tribunal Officer will be responsible for managing appeals and disputes relating to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a fair and professional manner.
Essential Requirements:
- Secure understanding and experience in representing local authorities at SEND Tribunals.
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures in relation to SEND.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Prepare and maintain high quality documentation linked to SEND appeals.
- Work closely with education settings and partner agencies to meet time scales set out in the SEND Code of Practice.
- Lead and attend Way Forward, Mediation and pre-Tribunal meetings.
Skills required:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to convey complex information accurately.
- Strong organisational skills and able to prioritise tasks to meet legal deadline dates.
- Capable of building and maintaining meaningful working relationships.
