Senior SEND Officer

£360 per day

3-6-month contract

Hybrid working - 1-2 days on site

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Officer to lead a team of Assessment and Case Coordinators in effectively meeting its statutory responsibilities for children and young people with special and educational needs (SEND).

Essential Requirements:

  • Leadership experience within a local authority SEND (special educational needs & disability) setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of SEND procedures and statutory guidance.
  • Experience in writing and presenting policy and strategy to improve future performance.

Duties include but not limited:

  • Effective data collection relating to complaints and SENDT appeals.
  • Initiation of improvement plans to better quality of service.
  • Implementation of systems and processes to prioritise the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Skills required:

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Innovative decision making.
