Substance Misuse & Recovery Case Worker
Local Authority in the Northeast
Pay Rate - £ 19.91 per hour.
Working Arrangements - Full time, Flexible.

Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for several Substance Misuse & Recovery Caseworkers for our client, a local authority in the Northeast.

Overall, you will be part of a team who aids those who are experiencing problems with domestic abuse, substance use, and homelessness. You will conduct screenings and assessments, develop and implement recovery plans, facilitate onward referrals to other relevant services and conduct care reviews to help clients achieve their goals.

What you will do:

  • Delivering all-encompassing care to clients struggling with substance abuse, assisting them from the moment they enter services until the end of their treatment and recovery process.

  • Conducting evaluations and screenings, providing evidence-based treatments, making recovery plans, and completing care reviews.

  • Determining suitable placements, services, treatments, and support packages.

  • Handling a client caseload effectively, analysing situations, taking action, assessing risk, and adhering to all safeguarding protocols on a regular basis.

  • Deliver DRR/ATR interventions in alignment with the National Probation Service court order requirements.

  • Ensuring a smooth transition between police/court custody suites, prisons, and community settings.



What we're looking for:

  • Experience and or knowledge in substance use services would be an advantage but it's not essential as training package will be provided.
  • Transferable skills are ideal such as care planning, risk management, caseload management, along with previous experience of working with vulnerable clients.
  • If you have previous experience in a support setting this would be ideal for you, the client is also open to individuals with lived experience.
  • Resilience is in the face of challenges and crisis situations.
  • Access to own transport and hold full UK driving licence, business insurance will be required prior to start date.
