Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you Team-Teach trained and ready to make a positive impact in a supportive, nurturing environment? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Failsworth, Oldham. As an SEMH TA, you will work closely with students who face a variety of challenges, helping them develop emotional resilience, achieve academic success, and engage in positive behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support for students with SEMH needs.
- Implement strategies to support emotional and social development.
- Use Team-Teach techniques to manage challenging behavior and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Work alongside teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored interventions and support plans.
- Foster positive relationships with students, helping them build confidence and self-esteem.
- Monitor and track progress, providing feedback to staff and parents.
Essential Requirements:
- Team-Teach qualification (or a commitment to undertake training).
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a PRU or similar setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
