What types of clients do you work with?
We work alongside a number of NHS Trusts, schools, healthcare providers and private sector organisations who are searching for interim and permanent Occupational Therapists.
We work with clients who specialise in Acquired Brain Injury, Paediatrics, Social, Emotional and Mental Health and specialist schools.
What qualifications are required to work as an Occupational Therapist?
To become an Occupational Therapist, you will need a BA in Occupational Therapy and to be registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
Some clients also require registration with RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy) and social service clients look for Manual Handling qualifications.
What experience do I need to be an Occupational Therapist?
Required experience can vary depending on the area of occupational therapy.
Clients operating within social services usually require vast experience within Minor and Major adaptations.
Mental health providers will look for someone who has experience working in mental health or who at least has relevant skills that can be utilised within their specialty.
The NHS requires team members to have experience within a similar setting, whether this be in the public or private sector.
What’s involved in the application process?
Initially, a screening process will be carried out by one of our expert healthcare consultants and after this has been completed, our consultant will then share your CV and details of your experience with the hiring manager.
If they think you are a good fit for their role, you will then be invited for an interview.
Finally, if you are offered an interim position, we will register you with our agency and then begin the onboarding process. This will be completed in a timely manner so you can start your new position as soon as possible.
If you are offered a permanent position, the client will be responsible for the onboarding process which generally takes 1 - 2 months.
Will you send my CV without permission?
Absolutely not, you will always have full control of where your CV is sent. We will present opportunities to you and you can advise if you would like your CV to be forwarded on.
How quickly can you find me a job?
We pride ourselves on working very quickly; on average it takes us between 1 - 3 days to place an Occupational Therapist.
How long will my contract be?
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to contract lengths but you can typically expect a contract to last between 3 - 6 months. However, contracts can last for years depending on the needs of the NHS Trust or business which you are working for.
What happens when my contract ends?
Entering the interim market can be daunting at first, particularly if you’re not sure what to expect. However, contracts are regularly extended and as we work with hundreds of Local Authorities, there are always plenty more job opportunities just around the corner.
Simply contact us on 01772 954200 and we can put any concerns you have at ease.
Can I work remotely?
It totally depends on the business you are working for. The work pattern type will be listed on the job advert.
