Frequently Asked Questions.
I’m thinking of entering the interim market. How do I get started?
If you are thinking about joining the interim market, it would be a good idea to give us a call on 01772 954200. There are many options and avenues to explore but one of our healthcare recruitment specialists can set you on the path which is right for you.
You can also discover more about how the interim job market works in our recent interview with medical professionals recruitment specialist, Natalie Boaler.
What types of clients do you work with?
We work with hundreds of private sector organisations and NHS Trusts who are looking for interim and permanent Pain Consultants to join their teams.
What qualifications are required to work as a Pain Consultant?
To become a Pain Consultant you will need to attend medical school which usually takes 5 years to complete.
You will then complete your 2 year foundation training, where you will rotate through the specialties.
Following this, you will specialise in Anaesthesia and then complete your specialist training in the area which you would like to specialise. This will take 3 years.
Once you have completed this, you will receive your CCT.
What’s involved in the application process?
To begin, a screening process will be carried out by one of our expert healthcare consultants and if you are happy to proceed with the job, our consultant will then share your CV and details of your experience with the hiring manager.
If they think you have the required skills and experience for their role, you will then be invited to interview with the client.
Finally, if you are offered an interim position, we will register you with ourselves and then begin the onboarding process. This will be completed as quickly as possible so you can begin your new position without delay.
If offered a permanent position, the client will be responsible for the onboarding process which usually takes between 1 - 2 months.
Will you send my CV without permission?
Absolutely not, you will always have full control of where your CV is sent. We will present opportunities to you and you can advise if you would like your CV to be forwarded on.
How quickly can you find me a job?
We pride ourselves on working very quickly; on average it takes us between 1 - 3 days to place a candidate.
How long will my contract be?
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to contract lengths but you can typically expect a contract to last between 3 - 6 months. However, contracts can last for years depending on the needs of the NHS Trust or business which you are working for.
What happens when my contract ends?
Entering the interim market can be daunting at first, particularly if you’re not sure what to expect. However, contracts are regularly extended and there are always plenty more job opportunities just around the corner.
Simply contact us on 01772 954200 and we can put any concerns you have at ease.
Can I work remotely?
It totally depends on the NHS Trust or business you are working for. The work pattern type will be listed on the job advert.
Requirement to be on site will also depend on the area of speciality.
