Spencer Clarke Group Announces Winner of the Olympic-Themed Writing Competition
19 Jun, 20241-2 minutesWe are delighted to announce the winner of our National Writing Day Competition! Our congratulations go to this year’s winner: Faheem from Haslam Park Primary School.
For the last few weeks, pupils in primary schools across the country have taken part in an Olympic themed poetry competition for National Writing Day. They have been writing and rhyming away to come up with the best poem inspired by the 2024 Olympic games in Paris.
National Writing Day is an annual celebration of the power of writing and inspires people of all ages and abilities to try writing for fun. Our Olympic Poetry competition encouraged pupils to think creatively and combined a love of sports and activity with writing and poetry.
We received some very impressive poems and loved reading them all. Ultimately, Faheem’s creativity, rhyming flair and words of determination won the judges over and Haslam Park Primary School have won an amazing hamper for their year 6 classroom full of stationary and yummy treats!
Faheem’s poem ‘Paris 2024’ was selected from dozens of entries from primary schools across the country. The judges were impressed by the standards and creativity of everyone’s Olympic poems, and we would like to thank everyone for taking part. We hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did!
