We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Behaviour Support to join a supportive school in Blackburn. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working Monday to Friday during term time.

About the Role:


You will work with pupils who find school difficult, supporting them to manage their emotions, follow routines and build positive relationships with staff and peers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one to one and small group support for pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Use de-escalation techniques and follow individual behaviour plans
  • Help pupils regulate and return to learning
  • Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils
  • Feed back to the pastoral and SEND teams

Who We're Looking For:


We would like to hear from people with practical experience of behaviour support, such as:

  • SEMH Teaching Assistants or Behaviour Mentors
  • Youth work or residential care backgrounds
  • Sports coaches used to working with challenging groups
  • Psychology, criminology or social care graduates

You must be:

  • Calm under pressure and consistent in your approach
  • Resilient and able to bounce back after a tough day
  • Confident in setting boundaries with warmth
  • Committed to seeing pupils succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
