In the UK, the majority of Educational Psychologists are employed by local authorities so we predominantly work with local authority educational psychology services and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). However, we do also work with private educational psychology providers who offer specialised assessments for ADHD, autism, dyslexia, learning difficulties and more.

Specialist remote educational project psychology project work
Flexible, home based roles involving virtual assessments, consultations, professional advice and statutory contributions. This is ideal for Educational Psychologists seeking autonomy, reduced travel and a balanced workload while still delivering high quality practice.
In-person educational psychology project work
Face to face assessments, consultations and observations within local authorities. This is suitable for Educational Psychologists who prefer direct engagement with children, families and professionals.

Permanent Educational Psychologist roles

Once you’re registered and onboarded with Spencer Clarke Group, you will have full access to all Educational Psychologist jobs which are sent out on a weekly basis. The application process is then fairly straightforward, usually consisting of a 1 or 2 stage interview process.
Absolutely not. You will always have full control of where your CV is sent. We will present job opportunities to you and you can advise if you would like your CV to be submitted.
We pride ourselves on working very quickly; on average it takes us between 1 - 3 days to place an experienced Educational Psychologist.
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to contract lengths but you can typically expect a contract to last between 6-12 months. However, contracts can last for years depending on the needs of the local authority educational psychology service which you are working for.
As an agency, we pride ourselves on long term partnerships, not just one-off placements. Many of our Educational Psychologists stay with us for years because they feel part of something - a community that values them, invests in them and helps them grow professionally.
Working the interim market can be daunting if you’re not sure what to expect. It’s important to note that contracts are regularly extended. As we work with the majority of local authorities in the UK, there are always other job opportunities available. As your contract is nearing the end, we will proactively work with you to line up your next placement.
It totally depends on the local authority but the majority of positions which we offer are remote or hybrid working patterns. The work pattern type will be listed on the job advert.
CPD events
We host regular CPD events, designed to go beyond the standard training offered across the sector. Each session is led by experienced Educational Psychologists and specialist practitioners, focusing on emerging themes, complex cases and innovative approaches shaping the future of SEND.
