We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Behaviour Support to join a supportive school in Burnley. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working Monday to Friday during term time.

About the Role:


You will support pupils whose behaviour is a barrier to learning, many with social, emotional and mental health needs, working with the pastoral and SEND teams to help them regulate and re-engage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with behavioural needs in and out of the classroom
  • Follow behaviour plans and use positive de-escalation strategies
  • Mentor pupils and help them set and reach personal targets
  • Help pupils settle back into lessons after difficult moments
  • Record incidents and progress and share them with staff

Who We're Looking For:


This role suits someone with experience of supporting young people, such as:

  • Behaviour or Learning Mentors and SEMH Teaching Assistants
  • Youth workers and residential care staff
  • Sports coaches and activity leaders
  • Team Teach or positive handling training (desirable)

You must be:

  • Resilient and able to stay positive
  • Consistent with clear, fair boundaries
  • Empathetic and able to see past the behaviour
  • Confident in managing difficult situations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
