Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Pay: £110 per day

Contract: Full time, long term
A Burnley primary school is looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join their pastoral team. This is not a cover role. The school wants someone who will be there every day, learn the pupils properly and become one of the adults they actually listen to.
A typical day

• Meeting your key pupils at the start of the day and setting them up to learn
• Sitting alongside them in lessons and stepping in before things escalate
• Taking pupils out for a reset when they need it, then getting them back in
• Running nurture and social skills sessions in small groups
• Logging what you see so the pastoral lead has a clear picture

You will suit this role if you

• Have worked with children who find school hard, in any setting
• Do not take challenging behaviour personally
• Can hold a boundary without raising your voice
• Want a long term placement rather than day to day supply
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or will apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
