We are looking for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a primary school and provide individualised support to children who may require additional help with their behaviour, emotional regulation and social development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and act as a consistent and supportive role model.
- Support pupils to develop emotional regulation, communication, social and self-management skills.
- Implement agreed behaviour support strategies and individual plans.
- Identify potential triggers and help children develop appropriate coping strategies.
- Support pupils in the classroom, during transitions, break times and other school activities.
- Promote positive behaviour through encouragement, praise and positive reinforcement.
- Maintain accurate records of behaviour, incidents and progress.
- Follow school safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures at all times.
About You

- Able to build strong and trusting relationships with children.
- Consistent, reliable and professional.
- A good communicator who can work effectively as part of a wider team.
- Understanding of safeguarding and the importance of maintaining professional boundaries.
- Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, SEN, youth work or similar setting is desirable.
A relevant qualification or experience in behaviour support, education, SEN, childcare, psychology or a related area would be advantageous, but we are also interested in hearing from candidates with strong transferable experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
