Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Benefit Assessor for a local authority in Cheshire.
In this role, you will assess Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims, handle complex cases and overpayments, and provide accurate advice to customers.
Duties:
- Assess and process Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims accurately.
- Calculate, notify and recover benefit overpayments.
- Provide advice and support to customers on benefits and entitlements.
- Maintain accurate records and liaise with customers, colleagues and external agencies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience assessing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims.
- Experience handling complex cases, overpayments and underlying entitlement.
- Experience providing benefits advice and supporting customers.
- Experience using Academy or similar benefits assessment systems.
What's on offer:
Salary: £23ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
