Daily Rate: £115 per day

We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Challenging Behaviour Support to join a supportive school in Preston. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working Monday to Friday during term time.

About the Role:

You will work with pupils whose behaviour presents a barrier to learning, many with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will help them regulate, re-engage with lessons and build trusting relationships with staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one to one and small group support for pupils with challenging behaviour
• Use de-escalation strategies and follow individual behaviour plans
• Help pupils regulate emotions and return to learning
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Record incidents accurately and feed back to the pastoral and SEND teams

Who We're Looking For:

This role suits someone with practical experience of supporting behaviour, such as:

• Behaviour Mentors, Learning Mentors or SEMH Teaching Assistants
• Youth work, residential care or secure setting backgrounds
• Sports coaches used to working with challenging groups
• Team Teach or similar positive handling training (desirable)

You must be:

• Resilient and able to bounce back after a difficult day
• Calm under pressure and consistent in your approach
• Confident in setting boundaries with warmth
• Committed to seeing pupils succeed long term

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
