Rate: £400 Per day
Contract: 3 Months ongoing

Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint a Disrepair Surveyor.

This is a specialist role supporting housing condition and disrepair cases. You will carry out detailed inspections, identify defects and causes, produce clear schedules of disrepair and provide professional reporting to support legal processes.

Responsibilities include
* Inspect residential and commercial properties and record disrepair clearly and accurately
* Identify building defects, likely causes and appropriate remedial works
* Produce Schedules of Disrepair suitable for housing condition and legal claim processes
* Write impartial expert reports in line with Part 35 requirements where needed
* Provide technical advice to landlords, tenants and legal representatives on disrepair matters
* Attend joint inspections, site meetings and court where required
* Support legal teams with evidence-based recommendations and input into settlements
* Keep knowledge up to date around relevant housing legislation, standards and best practice
* Provide guidance and support to junior surveyors when needed
* Work in line with health and safety policies at all times

About you
* Strong experience completing disrepair inspections and producing Schedules of Disrepair
* Good working knowledge of housing legislation, landlord and tenant law and building regulations
* Experience preparing Part 35 compliant expert reports and acting as an expert witness
* Sound building pathology knowledge and a practical approach to diagnosing defects
* Comfortable communicating findings to a range of stakeholders, including legal teams
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Disrepair software or database experience is desirable
