Employment Type: Temp-to-Permanent
Location: Lytham
Start Date: December 2026

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people? We are working with a welcoming and supportive SEMH school in Lytham to recruit a KS2/KS3 SEN Teacher to join their team from December.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach within a nurturing environment where you can focus on building positive relationships and delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to achieve their potential. With class sizes of no more than five pupils, you'll have the time and opportunity to provide personalised support and make a lasting impact on every learner.

Your Role

As the school's KS2/KS3 SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across Key Stages 2 and 3.
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and academic progress.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Create a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
  • Adapt your teaching to support pupils with a range of learning needs and barriers to education.
  • Support pupils' wider development, confidence and independence.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching at KS2 and/or KS3.
  • A passion for supporting pupils with additional needs and barriers to learning.
  • Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, resilient and flexible approach to teaching.
  • The ability to adapt lessons to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Previous experience within an SEMH, SEND or alternative provision setting is desirable but not essential.

Why Join This School?

  • Temp-to-permanent opportunity with a December 2026 start.
  • Salary paid in line with the Teachers' Pay Scale, dependent on experience.
  • Small class sizes of a maximum of five pupils, allowing for highly personalised teaching.
  • A supportive leadership team committed to staff wellbeing and professional development.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a rewarding specialist education setting.
  • Potential to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

The school is looking to interview suitable candidates over the coming weeks, with the successful applicant starting in December 2026.

Application Requirements

  • All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks and, where applicable, Overseas Police Clearances in line with safeguarding requirements.
  • Your CV should cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible, with any employment breaks explained.
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • You must be willing to attend an interview and complete the school's safer recruitment process.

If you're an enthusiastic SEN Teacher ready for your next opportunity and want to make a real impact within a supportive SEMH setting, we'd love to hear from you.
