We are seeking a committed, caring and adaptable Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join an SEN school in Berkeley on a permanent basis, with an immediate start available.

As a Level 1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Class Teacher and wider school team to support pupils with their learning, development and general wellbeing.
You will help create a caring, safe and positive learning environment, ensuring pupils have the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential.
The role will involve supporting pupils with their learning and helping them access a broad and balanced curriculum. You will work under the direction of the Class Teacher and more senior Teaching Assistants to implement learning activities, reinforce concepts and provide additional support where required.
You will also play an important role in supporting pupils' social, emotional, behavioural, cognitive and physical development, encouraging independence and maintaining high expectations of behaviour.
Depending on the needs of the pupils, the role may include supporting with personal care, including toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating, as well as wider social, welfare and health needs.
You will build positive relationships with pupils, helping them to feel safe, supported and able to enjoy their learning. You will also monitor their wellbeing and communicate relevant information to teachers and other professionals.
No formal qualifications are required for this role, although relevant knowledge and experience of SEN, safeguarding, behaviour support or education would be desirable.
