A friendly primary school in Burnley is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The school has a settled staff team and a head who is clear about wanting the right person rather than the quickest fill.
What you will be doing

• Supporting the class teacher with whole class activities and transitions
• Working with small groups on phonics, reading and number
• Giving one to one support to pupils who need a bit more time
• Helping prepare resources and keep the classroom running smoothly
• Supporting at break, lunch and on school trips

What we are looking for

• Experience in a primary classroom, or a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Confidence with phonics, or willingness to learn the school scheme
• Someone who uses their initiative rather than waiting to be asked
• Good communication with pupils, staff and parents
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
