Project Engineer (Street Lighting)

Location: East Midlands
Rate: £28 per hour
Contract: 6 months with a view to extend

Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority to appoint a Project Engineer (Street Lighting).

This role will support the Street Lighting Manager to manage and monitor the Street Lighting PFI contract, provide technical guidance across street lighting schemes, and help ensure works meet statutory, safety, and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities include
* Supporting the day to day management of the Street Lighting PFI contract, working closely with the service provider
* Producing feasibility studies and technical input for street lighting and related projects
* Checking works meet agreed specifications, standards, policies, and contract requirements
* Preparing technical documentation including reports, inspection outputs, method statements, risk assessments, and health and safety documentation
* Supporting delivery of capital programmes and major schemes, including contributing to funding bids and associated reporting
* Providing client-side supervision of street lighting operations delivered by contractors and the PFI provider
* Monitoring budgets and financial performance, including forecasting and supporting payment processes on contracts
* Undertaking inspections, testing and surveys, and supporting or supervising junior staff where required

About you
* Degree (or equivalent) in civil, structural, or electrical engineering
* Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) with membership of a relevant professional body
* Proven experience managing or supporting a street lighting PFI contract and contractor performance
* Strong knowledge of street lighting standards and highway engineering specifications
* Experience delivering street lighting schemes from feasibility through to delivery
* Good working knowledge of CDM 2015 and health and safety requirements within construction/highways
