School Caretaker - Temporary Contract

We are looking for a reliable and practical School Caretaker to join a school in Longridge on a temporary basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming school environment. The role offers flexible working hours and an attractive hourly rate of £17.50-£19.00, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general caretaking and maintenance duties across the school site
• Ensure the school premises and grounds are safe, secure and well maintained
• Complete basic repairs and maintenance where required
• Carry out routine checks of buildings, facilities and equipment
• Assist with setting up rooms and spaces for school activities and events
• Liaise with school staff and contractors as needed
• Respond promptly to any maintenance or site-related issues
• Support with opening and/or securing the premises when required

• Reliable, responsible and organised
• Practical and confident carrying out general maintenance tasks
• Able to work independently and use their initiative
• Friendly and professional when working around pupils, staff and visitors
• Flexible and willing to adapt to the needs of the school
• Previous caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience in schools is essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
