School Catering Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to join our friendly school catering team in Wirral.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the school kitchen and dining service, including:

• Preparing and serving school meals
• Serving pupils and staff in a friendly and professional manner
• Food preparation and basic cooking duties
• Setting up and clearing dining areas
• Washing up and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Following food hygiene, health & safety and allergen procedures
• Working as part of a busy catering team

About You

Previous catering experience is essential. We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working in a catering or kitchen environment
• Is reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Has good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen procedures
• Is confident working in a busy environment
• Is friendly and professional
• Works well as part of a team
• Is comfortable working around children and young people

A current Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
