We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Blackburn. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working Monday to Friday during term time.

About the Role:


You will work with pupils who have a range of SEND, including autism, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them feel settled, included and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one to one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Follow EHCP targets and individual support plans
  • Use visual aids, sensory strategies and adapted resources
  • Encourage independence, communication and social skills
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo and families

Who We're Looking For:


We would like to hear from people with experience of supporting children, such as:

  • SEN Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants
  • Nursery or childcare practitioners
  • Care or residential support workers
  • Psychology or education graduates

You must be:

  • Compassionate and understanding of every child's needs
  • Patient when progress comes in small steps
  • Observant so you spot what each pupil needs
  • Dependable and consistent day to day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
