SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School

Location: Blackley, Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist secondary SEN school in Blackley, Manchester.

The school is looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to support pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and achieve their full potential.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
• Supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom.
• Helping pupils with their learning, communication and social development.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Supporting behaviour and promoting positive engagement.
• Working closely with teachers and other members of the support team.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Child and Adult DBS.
• Previous experience supporting children or young adults with SEN is essential.
• Experience within a school, college, residential, care or support setting is desirable.
• A patient, resilient and caring approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and committed to working full-time.

Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, complex needs, PMLD or challenging behaviour would be particularly beneficial.
