Are you looking for a role where your patience and care help a child with special educational needs flourish? Would you like school hours, term time working and a consultant who backs you?
We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Burnley. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working Monday to Friday during term time.

About the Role:


You will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and SEMH. Working with the class teacher and SENCo, you will help pupils access learning one to one and in small groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEND in class, one to one and in small groups
  • Adapt activities and resources to individual learning needs
  • Help pupils manage emotions, routines and transitions
  • Work towards EHCP targets alongside the teacher and SENCo
  • Record progress and share observations with staff

Who We're Looking For:


Experience supporting children or young people is valued, for example:

  • Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants
  • Experience with autism, ADHD or SEMH needs
  • Care, youth work or support work backgrounds
  • Graduates in education, psychology or childhood studies

You must be:

  • Patient and calm when things get challenging
  • Caring about every pupil's wellbeing
  • Flexible and happy to follow each child's lead
  • Reliable so pupils have consistency every day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
