We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and support pupils with special educational needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support that enables every child to access learning, develop their confidence and achieve their full potential.

You will support pupils both within the classroom and, where appropriate, through individual or small-group interventions. The role may involve working with children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication and interaction needs, social and emotional needs, and other learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Support pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
  • Work alongside teachers to implement individual support plans and strategies.
  • Encourage pupils' independence, confidence and self-esteem.
  • Support pupils with their social, emotional and communication development.
  • Assist with classroom activities and learning interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
  • Contribute to monitoring and recording pupils' progress.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.

  • DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one


Previous experience of working with children with SEN is desirable, but we would also welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates who are keen to develop their skills and experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
