We are currently recruiting for a Social Work Assistant to support our Local Authority client in Wales
Contract Length: 3-6 months - with possible extension
Pay Rate: £17.17 per hour PAYE - Negotiable
We are looking for a motivated, compassionate and committed Social Work Assistant to join our Local Authority client in Wales to support the Intake and Assessment Team in providing services to children, young people and families experiencing difficulties or crisis, particularly those at risk of entering care.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to children, young people and families in crisis.
- Work alongside social workers and other professionals to assess needs and identify risks.
- Help develop safety plans and practical solutions to protect children and improve family relationships.
- Support families to change harmful behaviours and improve communication.
- Contribute to assessments, care plans and reviews to ensure support meets individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records and update relevant systems.
Key requirements:
- Experience working with children, young people and families.
- Ability to assess needs, identify risks and support care planning.
- Good communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good record-keeping and organisational skills.
