Could you be the person who helps a child with special needs feel confident in school? Do you want rewarding work that fits around term time?
We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Special Needs Support to join a supportive school in Garstang. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working Monday to Friday during term time.

About the Role:


You will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them access learning, build independence and feel part of school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one to one and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Follow EHCP targets and individual support plans
  • Adapt tasks and resources so pupils can take part
  • Support communication, social skills and independence
  • Share progress with the class teacher and SENCo

Who We're Looking For:


Experience with children or adults with additional needs is valued, for example:

  • SEN Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants
  • Care or support work backgrounds
  • Nursery or childcare experience
  • Graduates interested in SEND, psychology or education

You must be:

  • Kind and patient with every pupil
  • Flexible as needs change through the day
  • Encouraging and quick to celebrate small wins
  • Reliable so pupils have consistency

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
